Recently, Stanford University released the eighth edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists list, with eight entries from Xiamen University of Technology (XMUT), a testament to the sustained rise in the XMUT's research prowess and academic impact.
The list, jointly released by a team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University and the Elsevier database, is based on six key metrics: total citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted Schreiber Hm-index, citations to papers as first or corresponding author, and citations with and without author rank weighting. It covers 22 major disciplines and 174 sub-fields, identifying the top 2% of scholars from a global pool of nearly 7 million scientists. The list is categorized into two types: the “Career-Long Impact” list and the “Single-Year Impact” list.
Three XMUT professors—Liu Yande, Zhang Liang, and Jiang Chunhai—are featured on the “Career-Long Impact” list. The “Single-Year Impact” list includes five XMUT scholars: Zhang Liang, Lian Shuiyang, Qi Zhengbing, Luo Hao, and Zhou Hongyang.
