Recently, the national finals of the Application Track of the 2025 National College Student Embedded Chip and System Design Competition successfully concluded in Nanjing. Students from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation won one national first- and one second-place award, along with ten provincial prizes. XMUT also received the Outstanding Organization Award. The national first prize was won by Chen Luxin, Zhao Junjie, and Weng Yuhao (Advisors: Zhou Yanru, Huang Tao), while Hu Xianglin, Hei Luhao, and Lin Weili (Advisors: Zhou Yanru, Gao Haiyan) won the national second prize.

Launched in March, the competition was guided by the principle of "Unleashing Creativity, Standardizing Design, Breaking Through Oneself, Enjoying the Competition" and comprised three independent tracks: Chip Application, Chip Design, and FPGA Innovation Design, attracting 11,800 teams and 32,388 students from 735 universities.

It is reported that, as a Tier-A competition listed in the “National College Student Competition Rankings,” it is hosted by the China Education Society of Electronics, jointly organized by Southeast University and the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Management Committee, with support and co-organization from several renowned domestic and international enterprises. The competition aims to enhance university students' capabilities in independent innovative design and engineering practice within the fields of embedded chip and system design and programmable logic device applications. It seeks to cultivate outstanding talents with innovative thinking, problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges, and teamwork spirit, while vitalizing the on-campus atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship and fostering university-industry collaboration in talent development.
