Recently, the 2024 Belt and Road International Supermodel Competition China Finals was successfully held in Changsha, Hunan. Wang Yushi, a 2024 Performance major student from XMUT's School of Film, Television and Communication, under the guidance and leadership of instructor Wang Baofeng, won the championship in the Women's Supermodel category with her outstanding professional competence and stage presence. Han Xintong, also a 2024 Performance major, secured the runner-up position in the Beauty Pageant category. Shi Zhaojie (Class of 2022) and Song Yunle (Class of 2024) were awarded the "Top Ten Models" title.
The competition was co-organized by the Belt and Road International Supermodel Organization and the China-Kazakhstan Belt and Road Joint Association, with live streaming on CCTV's Yangshipin platform. It is dedicated to becoming the world's most influential professional modeling event. Following preliminary rounds in various provinces, over 100 contestants from more than 40 cities across the country advanced to the national finals. The finals were divided into the Supermodel and Beauty Pageant categories. Contestants showcased their professional skills and overall quality through multiple segments including swimwear shows, new Chinese-style cheongsam shows, men's suit shows, and talent performances. The competition provided a platform for contestants to showcase themselves, injected new vitality into the fashion industry, further promoted the dissemination and exchange of fashion culture among countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and fostered the prosperous development of the fashion industry.
