The International Conference on Electric Power Equipment - Switching Technology 2024 (ICEPE-ST 2024) was co-hosted by XMUT and Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xiamen from Nov. 10, 2024. About 300 professionals, scholars and students attended the event, who were from Manchester University, University of Tokyo, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Fuzhou University, and other universities and businesses

This conference has strong support from IEEE PES, the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering and the Chinese Electrotechnical Society. It has provided a worthwhile platform for professionals, scholars, and business elites in the field of power equipment to exchange ideas worldwide, giving impetus to the sustained development and innovation of power equipment switching technology, and has played a positive role in expanding the cooperation between electrical engineering disciplines, deepening the integration of industry, education and research, and assisting the growth of outstanding professionals in electrical engineering and automation in XMUT.

The International Conference on Electric Power Equipment - Switching Technology was initiated by China, Japan and South Korea. The first conference was held in Xi'an, China in 2011, and it has been held every two years hosted alternately by China, Japan, and South Korea. So far, six sessions have been held. During the 2024 session, participants also visited the high-voltage electrical testing center and microgrid labs in XMUT.
