A Minnan Cultural Innovation Design Workshop was recently held at XMUT. Prof. Wei Wanli, Dean of the Department of Commodity Design at Ming Chuan University, Associate Prof. Zhan Hsiao-chung from Ming Chuan University, Prof. Xu Yan, Deputy Dean of the School of Design at Tatung University, Dr. Weng Juqi from the Department of Media Design at Tatung University, Chen Hongyao, Deputy Secretary of CPC XMUT Committee, and chiefs of functional departments concerned and of the School of Design and Art as well as nearly 100 teachers and students from both sides of the Strait, attended the closing ceremony.

The workshop lasted for 10 days, and 18 teachers and students from Ming Chuan University and Tatung University in Taiwan across the Strait joined the teachers and students from XMUT to participate in this journey of cultural exploration and innovation.

This workshop excavated the profound heritage of Southern Fujian culture. Using design as the pen and innovation as the ink, it depicted a culture that has the same root and the same evolution path across the Strait, which effectively stimulated the innovative thinking of young students on both sides of the Strait, with improved practical ability. The event injected new vitality into the inheritance, innovation, and development of southern Fujian culture, and contributed to the integrated development of the cross-strait demonstration zone.
