Recently, XMUT and Kettering University held online talks and signed a cooperation and exchange agreement. According to the agreement, students of 6 programs in XMUT such as the engineering of electrical engineering science, may choose to study in Kettering university as exchange students. They are expected to get a bachelor's degree in XMUT and a master’s degree from Kettering through mutual recognition of credits between the two Universities. During the talks, the two universities agreed that they would start from "mutual recognition of credits and joint training of students and graduates". Later the cooperation would expand to joint education, school-enterprise cooperation and scientific research cooperation.

Kettering University is a famous university of science and technology in the United States, closely linked with the history of the American automobile industry, once known as the“General Motors Institute”. It enjoys a high reputation in the field of science, technology, engineering and business education integration as well as academic research.
