Recently, the 17th National University Students Intelligent Car Race came to an end in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. After 2 days of intense competition, “XMUT-Kelong Intelligent Team”, consisting of 6 participating groups, won3 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 1 third prize. Previously, they had won out in the South China regional race.

In recent years, the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' innovative ability, constantly innovating the practical education system, integrating high-quality resources, introducing enterprise elements, and taking the competition as an important opportunity to promote undergraduate and postgraduate professional learning, cultivates students' practical ability, and optimizes the construction of study style. “Combination of competition and education, combination of production and education” has become a powerful means for XMUT to achieve the goal of cultivating innovative talents. Since 2009 when the race was launched, XMUT has done extremely well in this competition, and has won 14 items of the national first prize and 8 items of the national second prize, establishing a good reputation among domestic colleges and universities.

The National University Students Intelligent Car Race, supported by the Ministry of Education, is a barometer of the teaching quality and reform project of a university. The race is an A level competition, the top level of its kind in the country. The aim of the race is to promote quality education in colleges and universities, train students' comprehensive ability and innovation awareness, and create conditions for outstanding talents to stand out.
