The School of Cultural Industries

The School of Cultural Industries consists of three departments: Culture Industries, MICE Economics and Management, and Business Planning as well as a Culture and Quality Education Center. Currently it offers five undergraduate degree programs: Exhibition Economics and Management, Art Operations and Management, Digital Publishing, Business Planning and Secretarial studies.

The School is home to Chinese Culture Brand Assessment Report and Taiwan Culture Development Report, which have been published annually in the Cultural Fair across the Taiwan Strait since 2012 and have had a broad impact in the related circles.

We implement an industry-oriented philosophy for education and provide opportunities for students to apply their theoretical knowledge and skills to the real business world through joint professional training bases with a dozen well-known businesses such as Xiamen Newspaper Group, Xiamen Radio & TV Group, Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center, Xiamen Culture & Arts Center, Media China, etc. Arch International Media has the Scholarship of MICE China for students of this School.

We have excellent faculty and students. Out of the faculty of 38 in this School, 48% are professors and associate professors, and 75% are PhD and Master Holders. Additionally we have a group of experienced and accomplished professionals from cultural industries across the Taiwan Strait as our mentors. This School’s fund for research recently completed or in progress totals RMB five million for over 40 projects, over 200 academic papers and published books.

Among our partner universities overseas for educational cooperation are Taipei University of Education, Taiwan Ming Chuan University, Chung Hua University at Taiwan, and Honam University of Korea.

Our students have won awards for various professional competitions and are welcome by the industry. They are the gold winners in Fujian Provincial Entrepreneurship Competition, first prize winners for Technical Product Design Competition for Art Students of Fujian Universities, winner of Best Creation in the Competition in the Cross-Strait Cultural Industry Fair. In 2013, the employment rate for graduates of this School grew to 100%. Graduates mainly find employment in cultural institutions, professional companies, organizations, business planning or other industries. Many alumni start successful businesses in advertising, media or marketing.
