XMUT and U of R Extend President’s Funding and Sign Joint Undergraduate Degree Program Agreement

On 24 October 2015, Prof. Dave Button, Vice President of the University of Regina (U of R), visited XMUT together with his delegation and was received by Vice President Prof. ZHU Wen-zhang and Associate Vice President Prof. CHEN Li-an. They extended the President’s Scholarship MOU and signed the Agreement of Joint Undergraduate Degree Program in Business.

Quite a number of XMUT faculty members have been to U of R for academic exchanges on the U of R President’s Scholarship for XMUT faculty members since it started in 2010. Its extension this time will enable many more XMUT teachers to conduct academic or research cooperation at U of R. Meanwhile, XMUT President’s Funding is set up to provide for U of R candidates to XMUT for teaching or academic exchanges.

The Agreement of Joint Undergraduate Degree Program in Business follows the practice for years to jointly develop engineering students between XMUT and U of R. A student scholarship program set up by U of R has also been in operation for years now in supporting distinguished XMUT students to undertake exchange studies at Uof R.

XMUT and U of R have developed a very cooperative and productive partnership with each other since 2005. Over the past decade, remarkable achievements of cooperation have been achieved in student development, teacher exchange, and joint education and research. XMUT and U of R are a fine model example for each other in each university’s global cooperation practice and a strategic partner institution for each other, as indicated in the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership between XMUT and R of U signed in May 2013
