XMUT Students Wins 2017 China Student BIM Competition

The 2017 China Student BIM Competition Finals was held in Changsha University of Science and Technology in Hunan Province. Over 700 teams from more than 400 universities in China took part in the competition. The competition includes BIM Calculation (Cost), BIM Construction Project Management (Sand Table) and Construction Engineering Skills Simulation. Four teams from XMUT School of Civil Engineering participated in the competition.

The XMUT students of architecture, engineering and construction made outstanding achievements after a fierce three-day competition, ranking first in the winning percentage accumulated, winning First Prize in BIM Cost by Team Cost of Luo Qian, Chen Liping and Liu Ling, and First Prize in BIM Sand Table as well as First All Around Team Award by Team Sand Table 1 of LV Qingjia, HUANG Shiyi and XU Quanping and Team Sand Table 2 of LV SHAO Yinpeng, YAN Xin Yi and WEi Meng Dan.

BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a professional building design, construction, facility operations service involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places.  The 2017 China Student BIM Competition is hosted by China Construction Education Association, sponsored by Glodon, and organized by Changsha University of Science and Technology and Jiangsu Construction Vocational and Technical College. It aims to improve students’ ability and skills of teamwork, planning, innovation and turning knowledge into practical results through their participation in the competition.
