XMUT Students Honored with First Prize in the 15th Challenge Cup Contest

XMUT won a first prize - for the first time – and a third in the 15th Challenge Cup National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Contest (the Challenge Cup Contest) held in Shanghai from 14 to 18 November.  

The Challenge Cup Contest is a national undergraduate competition in academic science and technology co-sponsored by Central Communist Youth League, China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, All-China Students Federation and the host government. Inaugurated in 1989, this biennial event has strongly boosted the growth of academic innovation for universities in China to be well known as the Olympic Games for undergraduate innovation in science and technology. The 15th Challenge Cup Contest lasted for more than one year, involving 2 million students from over 2000 colleges and universities in China and qualifying 755 projects from 314 institutions to compete in the finals.

Our first prize winner is a project of social science entitled From Nanny to Stepmom: the Invading Property Management Company, which is created by CHEN Tianzi, YU Huiyuan and ZHUANG Yating, guided by LIN Zhicheng, QIU Yihui and ZENG Siping. 

The third prize winner is one of mechanics and control entitled Smart Environmental Cleaning Technology Based on Micro-Blasting Effect of Solid CO2, which is created by SHANGGUAN Longwei, WANG Qijiang, ZHONG Xinquan, HUANG Congxin, ZHENG Jie and YU Yaokun, guided by CHEN Shui-xuan and QIU Yihui.
